It would be Plastiscines.
They're incredibly stylish. Think mod-ish 60's hair, intense eyes (!), a vintage and modern mixed wardrobe, headbands, and funky heels - thrown together with Parisian flare.
Three of them have really intense bangs (like moi).
They were featured on Gossip Girl, performing their song "Bitch" at Jenny's cotillion.
They're part of Nylon Records.
It's fun, indie, girl-rock you can dance to!
"Let's get down in Barcelona, tonight we're dancing, like no tomorrow..."
Donne-moi une tambourine, girls!
My friend Heather recently got me listening to Fleet Foxes, and I find their music perfect for these chilly November days. It's sort of ethereal and dreamy, and like much of the music I've been listening to and posting lately, makes me just want to curl up by the fire with a good book and watch the rain come down.
Enjoy "Ragged Wood," my favorite song of theirs, so far.
In the last couple of years, there have been very few albums of new music that I have been totally obsessed with from beginning to end. The one I still come back to whenever I need great driving music in the summer or perfect hangout music in the winter is Vampire Weekend.
As much as I love the whole album and still really like listening to it, I've been dyyyyying for something new from them for ages! Their song "Ottoman" from the soundtrack to Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist was great as well, but it's only one song.
I read an interview in Rolling Stone this summer, saying that Vampire Weekend had a new album coming out soon, and finally we get our first taste, on their Web site, with a song called "Horchata."
I love it. It's upbeat, layered and sounds new but unmistakably VW.
The album, called Contra, comes out January 12th. I guess this will have to tide me over until then!
She's back, and just in time for the cozy, fireside-book-reading, tea-sipping, it's-so-gross-outside-I'm-not-coming-out-until-May months.
Enjoy Norah Jones' first song from her aptly titled album, The Fall, called "Chasing Pirates."

Calling all hipsters: Owl City is performing at Neumos on Cap Hill tonight. The show is sold out, but I just thought I'd alert everyone. You could always head into MOE Bar first and try to finagle your way in from there...
Plus, they have this song and it's called "Hello Seattle!"
If you like dreamy, silly-lyric hipster music that has a lot of aquatic themes, you'll enjoy their album, Ocean Eyes.
...met an acquaintance we were reintroduced
with more in common than we had in our youth
she told me "you look the same" i said "i'm now a new man"
she asked me "how does that work" - i started giving a damn"...
I just heard this song on 103.7 "The Mountain" last week. I forgot how much I loved Eric Hutchison when I first heard that song "Rock N Roll" last Spring. This song, "Oh!" from his album Sounds Like This is just as good, and I've had it on repeat every time I've gotten in the car this week.

Let this be our little secret, no one needs to know our feelings.
Passion Pit, "Little Secrets"
"Supermodel" by Jill Sobule
"So you're probably going, "Is this a Noxema commercial or what?" but I actually have a way normal life for a teenage girl."
"Young Forever" from Jay Z's new album, The Blueprint 3.
Loves it.
"Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, but thy eternal summer shall not fade."
Dionne: Phat! Did you write that?
Cher: Duh. It's like a famous quote.
Dionne: From where?
Cher:Cliff's Notes.
What did I tell you? SUILTSOY has a special place in it's heart for Clueless...
(And the song is "The Impression That I Get" by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.)
What do you guys think of this hip-hop meets indie/electric collaboration? I think its pretty rad. I've been a fan of MGMT and Ratatat for a little while now, so I think its cool to hear them do something different.
"Pursuit of Happiness" Kid Cudi ft. MGMT & Ratatat
I saw the music video for this song on Madame Lamb last week, and realized I had forgotten a couple of things:
a) Clueless is one of my all-time favorite movies.
b) This song (along with most of that movie's soundtrack (which I own on CD)) is amazing.
Mel (Cher's Dad): What the hell is that?
Cher: A dress!
Mel: Says who?
Cher: Calvin Klein!
*You guys can look forward to more Clueless quotes in the coming days, but for now, I'm outtie.
"Feel Alright" by Supergrass
So this song is cool and upbeat, but not something I would usually post on my blog. However...
a) I just really love Jay-Z.
b) He raps about Maison Martin Margiela. (around 2:35)
c) Kanye comes in at the end and raps about bee stings and Riesling and then says, "I'm just tryin' to change the color on your mood ring," and I like it.
"Run This Town" Jay-Z featuring Rihanna and Kanye West
I was sort of obsessed with this group for a hot minute a couple summers ago, and they are playing at Chop Suey on Madison (Cap Hill) tonight.
Doors open at 6 p.m. but there are three opening acts, so I wouldn't expect Hellogoodbye to go on before 10 p.m.
Tix are $15 in advance, probably the same at the door.
A little Fleetwood on Friday because I miss Caitlin.
Fleetwood Mac "Never Going Back Again"
Have a great weekend!
xoxo, SUILTSOY
So this song samples that tear-enducing Imogen Heap song "Hide and Seek." (Remember that episode of The O.C? I know you do.) I'm on the cusp of either loving it, or totally hating it. How about you?
Jason Derulo - "Whatcha Say"
This is the story of how we begin to remember...This is the powerful pulsing of love in the veins...
It's a Graceland kind of day.
Paul Simon's "Under African Skies"
A sexy little something for this hot summer day...
Al Green, "L-O-V-E (love)"
My friend Megan introduced me to this song during my sophomore year of college. It stil never fails to set the tone for a perfect summer day.
ALO & Jack Johnson, "Girl, I Wanna Lay You Down."
