Cathy Horyn, "A Snub (of sorts) to Fancy" in The New York Times, July 9, 2009Over drinks at The Triangle Lounge in Fremont this weekend, some friends and I were discussing books we had read recently and passing on suggestions. Tantalizing gossip, I know. Anyway, one of my friends mentioned that she had recently read a collection of The New York Times column, Modern Love, that runs each Sunday.
Always a sucker for a good love story, I grabbed my parents copy of the sunday Times, a hot cup of coffee, and settled in on the back deck in the late morning sun to get lost in a stranger's tale of modern love. This week's piece, First Comes Marriage, was written by an Indian man who found his perfect match in an arranged marriage. It was sweet and well-written.
